Redistribution does not "merge" the OSPF networks together. It simply makes each OSPF instance aware of the others as external routes. Using a virtual link does merge the area 0's together. See the attached Cisco guide on "partitioning the backbone". The answer is A. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/open-shortest-path-first-ospf/7039-1.html#t15
