Offboarding refers more to the process of an emplotee leaving a company rather than dealing with sensitive information in equipment which are to be disposed of. I say A is the correct answer on this one.

I personally think the answer should be A. However, according to Mike Meyer's book: "On-Boarding and Off-Boarding Regardless of the deployment model that an organization chooses, it needs some method of verifying that new mobile devices appearing in the organization’s infrastructure are secure and safe to use within the organization. This procedure is known as on-boarding. As mobile devices leave the control of the organization, those same devices must be confirmed to no longer store any proprietary applications or data, a process called offboarding." "Off-Boarding Mobile devices move out of organizations just as often as they move in, for various reasons. A person quits and intends to take their phone with them. Mobile devices get old and are due for replacement. A device that uses tablets for controls switches from iPads to Android tablets. Whatever the case, it’s important that every outgoing device goes through an inspection (sometimes manual, sometimes automatic) that deletes proprietary applications as well as any data that the organization doesn’t want out in the world."

Selected Answer: A
Offboarding is more towards letting someone go and making sure they completely take all company assets and End of life cycle is more for equipment. So the answer is A

I think it's B according to Mike Myers' Net+ Book "Off-boarding: The process of confirming that mobile devices leaving the control of the organization do not store any proprietary applications or data."

system life -cycle procedures … when a system reaches its end of life... it end of life procedures covers the disposal of the system. Off boarding is the removal of an employee or service and the process to follow in doing so. So in the case of off boarding a company that is doing a service and is not an employee (third party)we have a policy in place to off board the 3rd party service, its access, and decommission the hardware and data. This may include who owns the data, how the data is collected, and what the data can be used for. In the question above we are tasked with disposal of old network devices and not services…. therefore the answer is (A) system life - cycle procedures. If the question was about a 3rd party service then (B) could be the answer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTnH3W3y6hU is based on CISSP an authority rated higher than CompTIA

I agree with Bones as shown in the attached article "Disposition/Disposal/End-of-Life: A well-rounded life cycle identifies and decommissions surplus or obsolete assets at the end of their life cycle. Included in this phase is the secure retrieval of data and information for preservation, as well as, the physical disposition of an asset." https://www.smartsheet.com/system-development-life-cycle-guide
