A company needs to expand their dynamic pool by 10 TB. The current dynamic pool consists of sixty-three 7.6 TB SSD drives that are configured for RAID5 12+1. What is the minimum number of drives needed for the pool expansion?
Correct answer is D : Driver Partnership limit of 64 drives will be reached by the first drive added, then to expand with a newly created Drive Partnership Group, a full RAID Disk Group will need to be added : 12 Drives plus 1 drive for the Parity, plus 1 drive for the Spare Space.
A is correct, add up 1x 15.3 TB 'SAS Flash 4' though not recommended as it takes forever to expand
Each drive partnership group can only contain a single drive type, though different sizes of a particular drive
type can be mixed within the group
Alternatively, D - but will cost $$$
1x 7.6TB SSD goes into 1 DPG (Max 64 Disk in a DPG)
14x X.XTB SSD (New DPG requires min 'RAID stripe width' plus one; any technology or size)
