The answer is correct. Since the level of expertise vary, there is need for different levels of abstraction

I agree the answer should be C. 7.1.4.4 Implement the Appropriate Levels of Abstraction: The level of abstraction of a requirement varies based on the type of requirement and audience for the requirement. Not all stakeholders require or find value in the complete set of requirements and models. It may be appropriate to produce different viewpoints of requirements to represent the same need for different stakeholders. Business analysts take special care to maintain the meaning and intent of the requirements over all representations.

Possibly D - Found this now I am questioning the above. 7.1.2 .2 Analyze Requirements - Business analysis information is decomposed into components to further examine for: • anything that must change to meet the business need, • anything that should stay the same to meet the business need, • missing components, • unnecessary components, and • any constraints or assumptions that impact the components. The level of decomposition required, and the level of detail to be specified, varies depending on the knowledge and understanding of the stakeholders, the potential for misunderstanding or miscommunication, organizational standards, and contractual or regulatory obligations, among other factors. Analysis provides a basis for discussion to reach a conclusion about solution options.

You have to take their competency into consideration as you decompose so you can define approprately the scope and who is good with what information.

Selected Answer: D
Torn between A & D but: A. The competency of individual stakeholders: Understanding the competency of individual stakeholders is indeed crucial, as it directly influences how requirements should be communicated and the appropriate level of detail required. Stakeholders with varying levels of product expertise may require different approaches to ensure effective communication and understanding.

D. The level of decomposition needed: The level of decomposition needed for requirements ties closely to stakeholder competency. As stated in BABOK, the level of decomposition required varies depending on factors such as stakeholder knowledge and understanding. Stakeholders with higher levels of expertise may require more detailed requirements, while those with less expertise may need higher-level summaries.

Considering both points, it becomes evident that the level of decomposition needed (option D) encompasses the assessment of stakeholder competency, along with other factors mentioned in BABOK. Therefore, while both options A and D are important considerations, option D more directly addresses the need to tailor the requirements to meet the varying levels of stakeholder expertise by determining the appropriate level of decomposition. So, based on the BABOK excerpt and considering the varying levels of stakeholder expertise, option D, "The level of decomposition needed," appears to be the most comprehensive choice.

Answer is D. Refer to BABOK Pg 139: "The level of decomposition required, and the level of detail to be specified, varies depending on the knowledge and understanding of the stakeholders, the potential for misunderstanding or miscommunication, organizational standards, and contractual or regulatory obligations, among other factors".

It could be either C or D. This is why the CBAP exam will be 'difficult' even though it's multiple choice. That is why you need to read the questions and answers several times to come to the correct solution

The answer seems to be correct. Types of diagrams are for different view points. Here the stakeholders are of similar types but with varied experiences.

Ans C 7.4.4.1 In short, the viewpoints tell business analysts what information they should provide for each stakeholder group to address their concerns, while views describe the actual requirements and designs that are produced. Requirements viewpoints frequently include standards and guidelines for the: • model types used for requirements, • attributes that are included and consistently used in different models, • model notations that are used, and • analytical approaches used to identify and maintain relevant relationships among models.
