Selected Answer: C
C. Communication. A risk heat map is most commonly used as part of an IT risk analysis to facilitate risk "C. Communication." A risk heat map provides a visual representation of risks based on their likelihood and impact, usually using colors to represent different risk levels. This visual representation helps communicate complex risk information in a clear and concise manner, making it easier for stakeholders to understand and prioritize risks. While risk heat maps can also be used in other stages of risk management, such as identification, assessment, and treatment (options B, D, and A), their primary purpose is to enhance communication of risks to various stakeholders, making option C the most appropriate answer.

D is correct. A risk heat map is a tool used to present the results of a risk assessment process visually and in a meaningful and concise way. Whether conducted as part of a broad-based enterprise risk management process, or more narrowly focused internal control process, risk assessment is a critical step in risk management.

When a risk heat map is used to represent results of an assessment. Not sure how it facilitate the risk assessment itself. You can complete a risk assessment then use the results to create a heat map. Which can quickly communicate key risk to the organization.
