A. The period before the second AS indicates the the second AS must be one of the two in the brackets. That means the first AS cannot be doubled. The plus before the last AS means it can be repeated as many times as you want.

There seems to be a typo error with answer B. Agree it would be the best answer if the repeated AS matched what is in the question.
