It sure would be great if the site updated their wrong answers. 10 months later, and it's still wrong.

Exactly, and we paid a lot of money to get these answers, they need to review all the answers and update with the right ones.

jellybiscuit - I agree. A LOT of the "official" answers are simply wrong. But when I look at an answer and think "WTF! That's not right!" and then look at the discussion .... well, in an odd way that's testing my readiness for the exam, too. It'll screw the people who just memorize the questions & answers (rather than those of us who learn the material, review the discussion, etc). My advice to people is know the material - because some of the answers in the discussions are wrong, too.

true as you can see in the document, under Postgres on Azure VMs, everything is customer managed that means Postgres on Azure VMs is an IAAS

With Azure, your PostgreSQL workloads can run in a hosted virtual machine infrastructure as a service (IaaS) or as a hosted platform as a service (PaaS).

The correct answer is IaaS and Paas. Virtual Machines (VMs) fall under the IaaS category and therefore, the correct answer is IaaS. Azure Database for PostgreSQL is PaaS, as DbaaS (Database as a Service) falls under the PaaS category. Hope this helps!

The correct answer is IaaS and PaaS , let me explain, In the case of PostgreSQL on Azure VMs, we are responsible for provisioning, managing, and maintaining both the virtual machines (the infrastructure) and the PostgreSQL software itself. It falls more under the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) category, as we have control over the infrastructure and software configuration, but you still manage many aspects of the environment. Azure Database for PostgreSQL is falls under the category of Database as a Service (DBaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS).

1. PostgreSQL on Azure VMs: In this scenario, you are deploying and managing PostgreSQL on virtual machines (VMs) provided by Azure. You have full control over the VMs and the PostgreSQL installation, making it an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model. You are responsible for managing the operating system, database software, and configuration. 2. Azure Database for PostgreSQL: With Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Microsoft manages the underlying infrastructure, including VMs, storage, and backups. You only need to focus on managing the PostgreSQL databases and the data itself. This service abstracts the infrastructure layer, providing a managed database service, making it a Platform as a Service (PaaS) model. In summary, when you use PostgreSQL on Azure VMs, it is an IaaS model, while Azure Database for PostgreSQL is a PaaS model.

IaaS and PaaS PostgreSQL on Azure VMs option falls into the industry category of IaaS. With this service, you can run PostgreSQL Server inside a fully managed virtual machine on the Azure cloud platform. All recent versions and editions of PostgreSQL can be installed on an IaaS virtual machine. PostgreSQL on Azure VMs option falls into the industry category of IaaS. With this service, you can run PostgreSQL Server inside a fully managed virtual machine on the Azure cloud platform. All recent versions and editions of PostgreSQL can be installed on an IaaS virtual machine. In the most significant difference from Azure Database for PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL on Azure VMs offers control over the database engine. However, this control comes at the cost of responsibility to manage the VMs and many database administration (DBA) tasks. These tasks include maintaining and patching database servers, database recovery, and high-availability design. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/flexible-server/overview-postgres-choose-server-options
