Which of the following statements are NOT true about the Volume Boot Sector, commonly known as Master Boot Record? Each correct answer represents a complete solution. Choose all that apply.
A.
The actual program can be 512 bytes long.
B.
Four 16-byte master partition records are present in MBR.
C.
The end of MBR marker is h55CC.
D.
The volume boot sector is present in cylinder 0, head 0, and sector 1 of the default boot drive.
This question is needs some proof reading, in the first part it says "Which of the following statements are NOT true"
If we were to answer which ones were wrong we would answer B and C.
But in the end it gives us the correct answer as the ones that are correct which is A and D, which makes no sense based on the question asked.
I just hope in the exam this has been corrected.
C is incorrect.
At the end of the MBR is a 2-byte structure called a signature word or end of sector marker, which is always set to 0x55AA. A signature word also marks the end of an extended boot record (EBR) and the boot sector.

The Master Boot Record, created when you create the first partition on the hard disk, is probably the most important data structure on the disk. It is the first sector on every disk. The location is always track (cylinder) 0, side (head) 0, and sector 1.
