Option A: The project is at Risk of delay but has not been affected yet. Means there is still time for improvement. Cheapest and motivating team development method shall On Job training. Option D should be when dealing with impact of risk.

Correct Answer A. Ask the team member to learn the new system as on-the-job training Like all others I also got fooled with option D. But the key is to understand what is On-The-Job Training. It means NEW employees learning SKILLS under supervision of GUIDE or MENTOR. Option D says experienced resource mentors the new employee. But Option A uses PMP terminology and this has mentoring involved in it.

D. Assign an experienced resource to support the team member. Explanation: Assigning an experienced resource to support the team member who is struggling with understanding the new system is the most appropriate course of action. This approach enables the struggling team member to receive guidance, clarification, and hands-on assistance from someone who is knowledgeable about the new system. It can help alleviate the difficulties faced by the team member and ensure that the assigned tasks can be completed effectively. This option addresses the immediate issue while also leveraging the expertise within the project team to maintain progress and mitigate the risk of project delays.

I say D; since they are "At risk" there isn't time for the team doesn't have the option to allow the resource to "learn on the job" and will need a more experienced person to come in and help get the newer resource up to speed and on track.

(Option D) is the most proactive and practical approach in this situation. This allows for knowledge transfer and immediate assistance to help the struggling team member understand the new system and fulfill their tasks more effectively. It minimizes the risk of project delay while also helping the team member improve their performance.

Answer D is most suitable in this situation. There is already a risk of delay, bargaining on n on-the-job training at this point is adding to the risk rather that securing the overall success of the project with an experienced resource. Adding additional help also has the benefit that the team member will (or may) gain experience from someone who is better equipped to use the new system. there is no mention of resource constraints so why not pull in an experienced resource?

Option A: is the idea answer because if you assign an experience resource the person might be the one that will eventually do the task without the team member learning how to do it. but as a Project manager been a Servant leader you want your team member to grow and be best at what they do, learning the new system as on job TRAINING will be the best way to go about it. the team member will be trained while doing the job and gain additional experience

The member is not understanding the new system while the job. I believe they need additional help from someone who understands it better. Like tacit knowledge

Voting for D Option A: Asking the team member to learn the new system as on-the-job training is not the best approach in this scenario. While on-the-job training can be beneficial, it may not be sufficient if the team member is struggling and the project is already at risk of delay.
