B is correct A minimum of three ESXi hosts is strongly recommended. Each vCenter HA node can then run on a different host for better protection.

Documentation on the link below is very clear: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Smart-Assurance/10.1.0/sa-ui-platform-user-config-guide-101/GUID-FCB6D75D-4CFD-4406-88E5-2DE160EBFA3C.html Minimum 2 ESX hosts are required for setting up HA. However, to ensure redundancy and maximum Fault Tolerance protection, you should have a minimum of three hosts in the cluster. The question ask for minimum requirements for HA, hence the answer is C.

Selected Answer: B
Answer is 3 hosts (B) Let's take a moment and read the question: What is the minimum number of ESXi hosts required to support vCenter High Availability? (Choose the best answer.) 1. "minimum number of ESXi hosts required" 2. "Choose the best answer" vCenter HA Hardware and Software Requirements https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.avail.doc/GUID-8FD87389-8CC9-4298-8B08-A1526FB44524.html "A minimum of three ESXi hosts is strongly recommended. Each vCenter HA node can then run on a different host for better protection." From the above article (dated 02/09/2021), it's clear the answer is 3 hosts as the minimum. Answer is B.

where i work we have HA on clusters with 2 esxi hosts and it works just fine. we use a central data storage as a witness in that scenario. so... C should be the correct answer even though everyone here says B.

Yes but, if you look vCenter Architecture Overview, All three nodes are necessary for the functioning of this feature. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.avail.doc/GUID-2D395533-4C7C-45A6-9B5C-0A78C3E3A5C8.html
