the requirement is to expand the WLD capacity, not the vSAN cluster, A is the answer

When you create a workload domain, only one principal storage option is used for the defined cluster. After the workload domain is deployed, one or more supplemental storage options can be (manually) added. If a second cluster is created in a VI workload domain, a different principal storage option can be selected, if necessary

There is no word about that the principal storage for Production WLD isn't NFS. So I would just expand the Cluster. This is not a consolidated Design.
