Which of the following is the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) condition operator that can be used within an Identity and Access Management (IAM) policy to check the case-insensitive matching of the ARN?

  • A. ArnCheck
  • B. ArnMatch
  • C. ArnCase
  • D. ArnLike
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D 🗳️
Amazon Resource Name (ARN) condition operators let you construct Condition elements that restrict access based on comparing a key to an ARN. ArnLike, for instance, is a case-insensitive matching of the ARN. Each of the six colon-delimited components of the ARN is checked separately and each can include a multi- character match wildcard (*) or a single-character match wildcard (?).

This question seem a bit out-dated. Here says ArnLike is case-sensitive: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/en_pv/IAM/latest/UserGuide/reference_policies_elements_condition_operators.html#Conditions_ARN While the Java SDK docs still reference it as "loose case-insensitive": https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSJavaSDK/latest/javadoc/com/amazonaws/auth/policy/conditions/ArnCondition.ArnComparisonType.html#ArnLike

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/reference_policies_elements_condition_operators.html ArnEquals, ArnLike Case-sensitive matching of the ARN. Each of the six colon-delimited components of the ARN is checked separately and each can include a multi-character match wildcard (*) or a single-character match wildcard (?). These behave identically. ArnNotEquals, ArnNotLike Negated matching for ARN. These behave identically.
