A company wants to launch its web application in a second AWS Region. The company needs to determine which services must be regionally configured for this launch.
Which AWS services can be configured at the Region level? (Choose two.)
Global Services:
• AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• AWS Organizations
• Amazon CloudFront
• Amazon Route53
• AWS Global Accelerator
• AWS Direct Connect
• AWS Firewall Manager
• AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• AWS Shield
ONLY A & E is a Regional Service
A. Amazon EC2
E. Amazon DynamoDB
Amazon EC2 and Amazon DynamoDB are two AWS services that need to be configured at the region level.
Amazon EC2 instances are launched within a specified region and these instances cannot be moved across regions (although AMIs can be copied to different regions).
Amazon DynamoDB tables are created within a specific region. Although DynamoDB offers a global table feature, each replica of a global table is stored in a specific region.
On the other hand, Amazon Route 53 (option B) and Amazon CloudFront (option C) are both global services. Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) web service designed to route end users to Internet applications, and Amazon CloudFront is a content delivery network (CDN) service that delivers data, videos, applications, and APIs to users globally.
AWS WAF (option D) is also a global service that protects against common web exploit patterns, such as SQL injection and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).
DynamoDB offers built-in security, continuous backups, automated multi-Region replication, in-memory caching, and data import and export tools.
53 - Set routing policies to pre-determine and automate responses in case of failure, like redirecting traffic to alternative Availability Zones or Regions.
The AWS services that can be configured at the Region level are:
B. Amazon Route 53: Amazon Route 53 is a scalable domain name system (DNS) web service that allows you to manage the routing of traffic to your web applications. It is configured at the Region level and allows you to create and manage DNS records for your domain names, including setting up routing policies and configuring health checks.
E. Amazon DynamoDB: Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service provided by AWS. It is configured at the Region level, allowing you to create and manage DynamoDB tables within a specific AWS Region. DynamoDB offers scalable and highly available database storage for your web application.
