Selected Answer: C
Answer = C. Lambda is serverless, which means the customer won't even have access to the OS. AWS would take care of its update automatically. Lambda, being serverless, would auto-scale as the demand increases or decreases.

Lambda can automatically scale and OS update. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/lambda-concurrency.html

I am confused, shouldn't it be C. AWS Lambda? "Lambda runs your code on a high-availability compute infrastructure and performs all of the administration of the compute resources, including server and operating system maintenance, capacity provisioning and automatic scaling, and logging. With Lambda, all you need to do is supply your code in one of the language runtimes that Lambda supports." (see: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/welcome.html) the documentation states that Lambda takes care of OS maintenance as well as automatic scaling of the compute capacity it needs. That's all the questions asks for in one service, isn't it?

Amazon Lightsail: Amazon Lightsail is a simplified service to launch and manage virtual private servers (VPS) that include a fixed amount of resources. While it provides easy management, it does not offer the same level of automatic scaling capabilities as EC2 Auto Scaling.

EC2 operating system is not updated automatically. Lightsail can be scaled based on the needs. Probably not auto scaled but that's not the question

it's literally in the question that it has to automatically scale: "[...] to automatically scale to meet customer demands"

If you require both automatic scaling and automatic operating system updates, it is difficult to meet your requirements with a single service alone: Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling meets the scaling requirements, but automatic OS updates require AWS Systems Manager for automatic OS updates. Therefore, the best choice among the options is Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling. However, it is important to understand that a combination of EC2 Auto Scaling and AWS Systems Manager must be used to fully meet the requirements.
