A company is planning to retire a data center where a few legacy SAP applications run. How can the company migrate the applications to AWS?

Selected Answer: C
A: SAP R/3 4.6C, which is a legacy version, and you don't have installation media, the Launch Wizard may not be the best solution. B. SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) is typically used for system copies, but for this to work, you would need the installation media of the application components which you mentioned is not available. D. Since you don't have installation media, manual installation might be a challenge. Database synchronization is typically not the preferred method for such migrations, as it can be complex, time-consuming, and can lead to data inconsistencies if not done carefully. So C is correct.

Selected Answer: D
D: Given that the SAP applications are legacy versions and out of support, and the company does not have a policy to maintain installation media, the other methods of migration such as using AWS Launch Wizard or Software Provisioning Manager would not be suitable or even possible in this scenario. Therefore, the company will need to manually install the applications on AWS and then perform a database synchronization from the source system to the new target system on AWS.

Manually installing the applications would require access to the installation media, which the company does not have. This option is not feasible without the necessary installation media. C is correct. Using AWS Application Migration Service to migrate the applications. This service is designed for migrations like this, where the application and database are outdated and unsupported. It allows for the replication of the entire environment, including the older operating system and database, without the need for installation media or specific support for the application version by AWS tools.
