AWS Outposts is needed when a company wants to use AWS cloud services but must keep some workloads or data on-premises due to compliance, low-latency requirements, or other reasons. It allows you to run AWS infrastructure in your own data center while still managing it like you would in the cloud. So, you get the benefits of AWS services, but the hardware stays at your location.
