D & E are correct. A is wrong....No Need for NAT GW unless you're in a private AZ/subnet. B is wrong....No need for this either. In both these cases check your own AWS VPC setup, there's No NAT Gateway and No elestic IP attached to your IGW. C is therefore wrong for the same reason. | If you're creating custom VPC, the firt thing you need is an IGW....D is correct. You IGW will appear as Detached in your VPC dashboard until you associate with VPC, and your VPC will have no internet access until you associate an IGW.

D | E are the answers The problem does not mention that EC2 would be in a private subnet, so NAT is not required. What is needed is to attach a IGW in the VPC (E) and then create a route in the RT, so the subnet where the EC2 is, gain access to internet (D)

A E is correct A provides outbound traffic E provides inbound traffic D is not correct try to do what is stated in there and you will see doesn't really make sense.

You cannot attach an Elastic IPs to an Internet Gateway, but you can attach them to instances. Therefore, option C will not work.
