I disagree with the whole question : without description of needed performance (throughput? , latency?, read iops,write iops?) and reliability it's impossible to choose a correct answer between RAID1 (better reliability and lesser write perf) and RAID10 (lesser reliability but better write perf) although both RAID 1 and 10 increase reads perf.
