Lake Formation is best used to control data in data lakes. JSON data will most likely be stored in S3 and DynamoDB, but DynamoDB can store JSON objects but not JSON files. Storing as S3 = data lake. Data lake = Lake Formation to control access https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lake-formation/latest/dg/lf-permissions-overview.html
