  • B. Upgrade the Direct Connect link to 500 Mbps. Copy the data to Amazon S3. Import the data into Aurora.
  • C. Order an AWS Snowmobile and copy the database backup to it. Have AWS import the data into Amazon S3. Import the backup into Aurora.

Just did the calculation. 100mbps will take 143 days. 500mbps will need to be ordered, then it'll take another 25 days. Snowmobile is an overkill. You guessed it, D is the right answer.

500 mpbs is 500x60x60x24=43tb per day.. So the task would take a max of 3.5 days..Right? Or am I missing something

50 TB Snowballs have 42 TB of usable space. so 42 x 3 = 126(less than 143TB) so they need to order 4 snowballs(168TB). https://docs.aws.amazon.com/snowball/latest/ug/specifications.html

A-GW endpoint(VPC endpoint) is to avoid traversing the internet when src and dst are in AWS. I think with establishment of direct connect,gw endpoint will not be needed as such. B- NOTE that capacity can be added/removed on demand for DX Hosted Connections(50mbps,500mbps,10gbps) ITs bits not bytes. So @ 500mbps: 143 TB*8 b/B*1000 000 M* 1s/500M =2288 000 s or 26.48 days C-Overkill as Snowmobile is 100 PB(1PB=1000 TB) D suits

Answer is B. It takes 3.3 days to upload if you upgrade to 500MBS. 143 TB = 143,000,000MB; we have a total of 86400 secs in a day. If you divide 143,000,000 by 86400 = 3.3 days. Answer is B

143TB the big B means Byte 500Mbps the little b means bit so you need to 3.3 x 8 = 26.4 days

You still need to divide by 500MBS t get 3.3 days

Connection is 500Mbps not 500MBPS....so multiple 143000000 by 8 to get bits.....Hell of days man....so D is right.

The devil is in the detail, we're upgrading to 500Mbps (bit) as opposed to 500MBps (byte). So you can multiply your 3.3 days by 8... It'll take over 26 days to transfer the data consistenly at the max speed and with no interruption.

Q: How long does it take to transfer my data? In the US regions, Snowballs come in two sizes: 50 TB and 80 TB. All other regions have the 80 TB Snowballs only. If you're using Snowball to import data, and you need to transfer more data than will fit on a single Snowball, create additional jobs. Data transfer speed is affected by a number of factors including local network speed, file size, and the speed at which data can be read from your local servers. The end-to-end time to transfer up to 80 TB of data into AWS with Snowball Edge is approximately one week, including the usual shipping and handling time in AWS data centers. With A it will take more than a Month to transfer data. If you notice "LEAST" is in caps so that is a key stress given in question
