Did you read it carefully? Under Public virtual interface settings, do the following: For Virtual interface name, enter a name for the virtual interface. For Connection, choose the Direct Connect connection that you want to use for this interface. For VLAN, enter the ID number for your virtual local area network (VLAN). For BGP ASN, enter the Border Gateway Protocol Autonomous System Number of your on-premises peer router for the new virtual interface. The valid values are 1-2147483647.

We need to create Private VIF to connect VPC. Not Public VIF

Taking it back. It is mentioned we need to connect to VPC. That means we provision Private VIF. For private VIF vlan id and VPN Gateway are required. So B/E.

I believe it is B/C. It is not mentioned we need to configure public, private or transit vif. Meaning there should be something required for all of them. VLAN ID and Prefix to advertise is required for all of this.

Correct answer: B & E Based on the official document for private VIF - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/create-vif.html, it shows that the required information are VLAN ID (step 5.f) and Gateway type (VGW or DX gateway - Step 5.c).

B & E are correct. The scenario says..you're creating a VIF to access your own VPC, this makes it a PRIVATE virtual interface, making A so very wrong... You need to specify VLAN id & BGP ASN. Furthermore, when you create a virtual private gateway, you must specify your own private ASN. Otherwise, Amazon provides a default ASN for you...meaning ASN is mandatory. B & E are correct. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/WorkingWithVirtualInterfaces.html#vif-prerequisites

BD a private virtual interface to connect to a VPC. Under Private virtual interface settings, do the following: For Virtual interface name, enter a name for the virtual interface. For Connection, choose the Direct Connect connection that you want to use for this interface. For Gateway type, choose Virtual private gateway, or Direct Connect gateway. For Virtual interface owner, choose Another AWS account, and then enter the AWS account. For Virtual private gateway, choose the virtual private gateway to use for this interface. For VLAN, enter the ID number for your virtual local area network (VLAN). For BGP ASN, enter the Border Gateway Protocol Autonomous System Number of your on-premises peer router for the new virtual interface. The valid values are 1-2147483647. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/create-vif.html ====== A. We need a private AS number instead of public C. Ip prefixes are not required to create a virtual interface D. it's not required

B and E. It can not be A. ----- An autonomous system (AS) is a group of IP prefixes with a clearly defined external routing policy. In order for multiple autonomous systems to interact, each needs to have a unique identifier. Autonomous system numbers can be public or private. Public ASNs are required for systems to exchange information over the Internet. A private ASN can be used instead if a system is communicating solely with a single provider via Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). ---

It mentions "to your vpc" in the question, which means it is a private VIF. For Private VIFs choosing a VGW or DGW is a must. Just test in the UI. Answer should be B,E. To me A is wrong cause it could be a Private AS as well.

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/directconnect/latest/UserGuide/create-vif.html A and B, E don't need or create later when needed because E.VGW = group of VIFs
