Topic #: 1
[All ANS-C00 Questions]

Your company has a DX connection and you just added a new VPC and Private VIF to which you have connected to your DX link. You copied the settings from the other VPC to ensure it's the same. Once you connected the new VIF, you began seeing problems with connectivity to both VPCs.
You checked to make sure you didn't use the same CIDR with each VPC, so what could be the problem?

  • A. You used the same VLAN ID for both connections.
  • B. You overloaded your DX circuit.
  • C. Your MPLS provider does not allow traffic to two VPCs.
  • D. You can only connect one VIF to a DX circuit.

should be B, because the console returns an error if you try to create a new VIF over the same connection with overlapping VLAN ID. in regards to the rest - these are not real scenarios - you can have more than 1 VIF per dedicated connection and provider should not be causing issues for all traffic if you add a new destination prefix.

A doesn't happen in real world..If you use a duplicat VLAN ID on the same DX it will throw out an error saying VLAN-ID is in use.. But for the exam A is correct since all other options are not even remotely close

VLAN ID should be different https://aws.amazon.com/directconnect/faqs/#:~:text=No%2C%20VLANs%20are%20used%20in,separate%20traffic%20between%20virtual%20interfaces. Q: Can I extend one of my VLANs to the AWS Cloud using AWS Direct Connect? No, VLANs are used in AWS Direct Connect only to separate traffic between virtual interfaces.
