Exam AWS-SysOps topic 1 question 621 discussion

Exam question from Amazon's AWS-SysOps
Question #: 621
Topic #: 1
[All AWS-SysOps Questions]

An Applications team has successfully deployed an AWS CloudFormation stack consisting of 30 t2-medium Amazon EC2 instances in the us-west-2 Region.
When using the same template to launch a stack in us-east-2, the launch failed and rolled back after launching only 10 EC2 instances.
What is a possible cause of this failure?

  • A. The IAM user did not have privileges to launch the CloudFormation template.
  • B. The t2.medium EC2 instance service limit was reached.
  • C. An AWS Budgets threshold was breached.
  • D. The application's Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is not available in us-east-2.

D is wrong because 10 instances were already launched.. that mean AMI is available. B should be correct

Selected Answer: B
Option D could be a possibility if the specific AMI used in the template is not available in the us-east-2 region, but the question states that the launch failed after launching 10 instances, which suggests that the AMI is available and the limit was reached. Therefore, option B is the most likely cause.

Selected Answer: D
To resolve the issue, you should verify that the AMI referenced in the CloudFormation template is available in the us-east-2 region. If the AMI is not available, you can either find an alternative AMI that is accessible in the region or create a custom AMI specifically for the us-east-2 region.

D is correct because IAM and EC2 instances are not available across region by default.

B. this link say nothing about AMI, and says "T2 instances are available in the US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Australia (Sydney), and Brazil (Sao Paulo) regions and coming soon to all other AWS Regions. T2 instances can be purchased as On-Demand and Reserved Instances, and are available for use in the Amazon EC2 Free Tier (t2.micro only). "

It says 'when using the same template to launch a stack in us-east-2'. So this means that the template is available in us-east-2. It also launched 10EC2 instances. B is the Answer

Not A - The user succeeded with some deployments, so they obviously have permissions Not C - Budget threshold being exceeded will send alerts, not stop actions (by default) Not D - Some instances were launched, so the AMI must be available in the region B is only remaining answer. The default instance limit is 20, but the user is at 40 now, so it has been raised in the past. Just need to raise it again.

B. The t2 medium EC2 instance service limit was reached It cannot be D if it already created some other instances using the same AMI ID

its simple maybe they already had other ec2 instances in Useast 2 already so once the limit is reached failed and rolled back.
