In my opinion, CE. Company using SMB. EBS and S3 not support to SMB and EFS is used to NFS.

I'm confused then. Isn't that what this article says is possible? https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2018/06/aws-storage-gateway-adds-smb-support-to-store-objects-in-amazon-s3/

This question was on my test that I passed on Nov 20 2021. I picked C E. Roughly half of the questions are from this 500 examtopics dump. But other half were unheard of new and lengthy ones in my test. Some of those questions had similarities but had twisted options. Good luck ya'll.

In my opinion, DE. Please check the link "https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/WhatIsStorageGateway.html#s3-file" https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/WhatIsStorageGateway.html#s3-file

Yes, EBS=NFS(linux instances) and S3=HTTPs FSx for Windows is based on SMB/NTFS protocol. Further, the newest type of gateway, FSx 'File' gateway, does just what the question asks, access to FSx for Windows Servers by users on-premises(Corporate office/Datacenter).

Adding to the above, EBS using isci like protocol, unclear on internet on exact one. And it cannot be accessed on-prem. Note that to access EFS on prem, one needs to have DX or site to site VPN setup. To access FSx for Windows on-prem, either have DX/site to site VPN set up or deploy File Storage GW(no VPN or DX needed for SGW).

I think CE is the right option. By using "Amazon FSx File Gateway" for on-premise and "Fsx For Windows" on the cloud, the application can provide access to SMB both on premise and on the cloud https://aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/file/?nc=sn&loc=2&dn=2 (see the second tab)

SMB File Storage GW to FSx for Windows File Server svc seems to be perfect combination. C, E is the answer.

Storage file gateway supports SMB. And it uses S3 as physical data store. Therefore we need the combination of D and E for Windows File share service in both on prem and cloud. C for sure supports SMB but I wouldn’t use both Storage GW and FSx… it’s one or the other.

C and E are correct answers since it´s saying that the system will access the file using an SMB protocol. This is supported by both FSx and Storage file gateway

- The file share solution should be accessible from both of the company's legacy on-premises environments and with AWS. -> Not S3. - https://aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/faqs/ -> Not EFS Q: Can I use Amazon S3 File Gateway to write files to EFS? A: No. Amazon S3 File Gateway allows you to store files as objects in S3. I go with CE

For me, C and E are correct both service meets the requirement https://aws.amazon.com/fsx/windows/ https://aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/ Not Amazon S3 because the question says which services, it does not say combination of service.

Since we require a combined solution so it's DE, note that we dont require two separate solutions. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/storagegateway/latest/userguide/CreatingAnSMBFileShare.html#create-SMB-file-share

EFS uses NFS protocol, is specifically for Linux instances. Q says SMB which is for Windows Instances. FSx for windows uses SMB or NTFS protocol.
