The CNAME record associated with the primary DB instance is updated to point to the standby DB instance that is promoted as the new primary. This ensures that client applications and services continue to connect to the database seamlessly without any manual intervention.

The failover mechanism automatically changes the Domain Name System (DNS) record of the DB instance to point to the standby DB instance. As a result, you need to re-establish any existing connections to your DB instance.
