The Identity Collector indeed uses DCE/RPC for communication with the Windows Domain Controller. DCE/RPC is a protocol used for remote procedure calls in distributed systems, and in this case, it allows the Identity Collector to interact with the Domain Controller. It does not rely on LDAP or ADQuery, but instead uses DCOM communication, which is part of the Windows API stack.
