The organization's security manager wishes to back up just the Gaia operating system parameters such as interface details, Static routes and Proxy ARP entries. Which command would be BEST suited to accomplish this task?
Suggested Answer:B🗳️
System Backup (and System Restore) System Backup can be used to backup current system configuration. A backup creates a compressed file that contains the Check Point configuration including the networking and operating system parameters, such as routing and interface configuration etc., but unlike a snapshot, it does not include the operating system, product binaries, and hotfixes. Answer A should be the correct one.
The backup tool also backups the management database, "show configuration" only backups the gaia settings.

".....to back up just the Gaia operating system parameters such as interface details, Static routes and Proxy ARP entries."
THE ANSWER B - IS NOT CORRECT:
System Backup can be used to backup current system configuration.
A backup creates a compressed file that contains the Check Point configuration including the networking and operating system parameters, such as routing and interface configuration etc., but unlike a snapshot, ******it does not include the operating system***, product binaries, and hotfixes.
But GAIA is the OS.
Save and backup are different. The question says "Backup". It lists what should be backed up.The backup method used to backup these items(doesn't include the operating system) is BACKUP. Had it included the OS, it should have been "SNAPSHOT"
ANS: BACKUP
Answer should be A … Gaia configuration are backed up via the clish command… save configuration … it does not include any application level configuration such as firewall details.
ARP proxy entiries is located in file $FWDIR/conf/local.arp. I suppose the ARP Proxy values are not saved by the command "save configuration".
