The Gaia operating system supports which routing protocols?

  • A. BGP, OSPF, RIP
  • B. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM, IGMP
  • C. BGP, OSPF, RIP, IGRP
  • D. BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP

Suggested Answer: A 🗳️
The Advanced Routing Suite -
The Advanced Routing Suite CLI is available as part of the
Advanced Networking Software Blade
.
For organizations looking to implement scalable, fault-tolerant, secure networks, the Advanced Networking blade enables them to run industry-standard dynamic routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, RIPv1, and RIPv2 on security gateways. OSPF, RIPv1, and RIPv2 enable dynamic routing over a single autonomous

system
like a single department, company, or service provider
to avoid network failures. BGP provides dynamic routing support across more complex

networks involving multiple autonomous systems
such as when a company uses two service providers or divides a network into multiple areas with different administrators responsible for the performance of each.

Correct Answer is A It says routing protocols, IGMP and PIM are not routing protocols, it's multicast routing. List of Routing Protocols: 1. Routing Information Protocol (RIP) 2. Interior Gateway Protocol (IGRP) 3. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) 4. Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) 5. Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) 6. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) 7. Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) PIM and IGMP are not Routing Protocols. seems correct, it all depends on the phrasing of the question. Here the question asks for routing protocols. So its A, the other options are no "routing protocols". Maybe the actual exam question is different, that would be a different answer then. Here the only correct solution is A

This is wrong. Answer is B. as stated in doc:https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/Topics-GARG/Gaia-Advanced-Routing.htm GaiaOS supports: Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP. Dynamic Multicast Routing - PIM Sparse Mode (SM), PIM Dense Mode (DM), PIM Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), and IGMP. Different routing options.

This question has key. They mentioned "ROUTING PROTOCOLOS"... this text is from the GAIA advance routing guide R80.30. Introduction to Gaia Advanced Routing In This Section: IPv6 Support VRRP Support for IPv6 Gaia OS supports Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP. You can configure Dynamic Routing protocols in the Gaia Portal and Gaia Clish. Gaia OS supports Dynamic Multicast Routing - PIM Sparse Mode (SM), PIM Dense Mode (DM), PIM Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), and IGMP. IGMP is not a routing protocol I think is A the correct answer

Routing Protocols should cover both unicast (BGP, OSPF, RIP) and multicast (PIM, IGMP) routing protocols

I think the answer is C. BGP, OSPF & RIP are unicast and IGMP & PIM are multicast routing protocols. Both these are routing protocols supported by Gaia the only difference is one is one to one and the other is one to many.

No, IGMP is not a routing protocol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Group_Management_Protocol#:~:text=The%20Internet%20Group%20Management%20Protocol,hosts%20that%20have%20requested%20them.). PIM is a routing protocol for multicast routing, and does rely on IGMP though. Confusing question, but best answer seems to be A. Checkpoint does support PIM, IGMP, OSPF, BGP & RIP though. Tough question.
