The company internetwork is subnetted using 29 bits. Which wildcard mask should be used to configure an extended access list to permit or deny access to an entire subnetwork?
Wildcard mask are always odd numbers. They can be determined by subtracting the subnet mask from 255.255.255.255.
255.255.255.255 - 255.255.255.248 = 0.0.0.7
You can think in the size of the network, then substract 1, that will be the wildcard mask.
If subnetmask is /27 (255.255.255.224) then think, subnet size = 32 - 1 = 31. Wildcard = 0.0.0.31. Easy.
