Refer to the exhibit. A network engineer is implementing an LDP-based MPLS solution to enable packet flow between the two bank sites. The engineer was given two requirements:

Which action meets these requirement?

  • A. Reset the LDP session between R4 and R6.
  • B. Implement an LDP targeted session with R4 on R6.

In my opinion these answers have no sense at all… Regarding answer D, no sure what would be the effect of configuring session protection on R4 to protect LDP session between R4 - R3 and R4 - R6 for failures between R3 - R6 and R6 – R5. Anyway, perhaps someone can explain it.

The traffic between R4 and R5 should normally pass through R6. The best bet of answer is the comment from thejag. We know that R6 has session protection enabled but gets session recovery failure from R4. It may mean that R4 is not configured with session protection. E-Bit set, only means that there is a fatal error https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5036.html and is probably set due to hold time expired. I'll vote for Answer D

SP (session protection) is shown to be configured on R6 but "session recovery failed" for R4 so needs to be configured on R4.
