I don't think It is an image recommended by Cisco.... https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/dna-center/2-1-2/user_guide/b_cisco_dna_center_ug_2_1_2/b_cisco_dna_center_ug_2_1_1_chapter_0100.html#concept_qj4_fzx_f1b Cisco DNA Center allows you to designate software images and SMUs as golden. A golden software image or SMU is a validated image that meets the compliance requirements for the particular device type. So I would say It is something that meet the requirements of an Organization for a specific type of device. My €0,02

In the Cisco DNA Center Image Repository, a "golden image" refers to: **D. A software image that meets the compliance requirements of the organization.** A golden image is a specific software version that an organization designates as compliant and preferred for deployment across its network devices. This ensures consistency, compliance, and reliability within the network infrastructure.

DNA Center allows you to designate software images and software image updates (SMUs) as golden. A golden software image or SMU is an ideal image for a particular device type. Designating a software image orSMU as golden saves you time by eliminating the need to make repetitive configuration changes and ensures consistency across your devices. You can designate both an image and a corresponding SMU as golden to create a standardized image. ref: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/dna-center/1-0-x/b_dnac_ug_1_0/b_dnac_ug_1_0_chapter_01011.pdf ANS: A

If you go to download an SDWAN software image.. you will see a gold star. That means its recommended by Cisco. But apparently, this golden image terminology means something different in DNAC.. Im going with Cisco recommended.

From OnDemandLearning Course: Golden Image A golden image is a tag that indicates to the system that an image is optimal for running on a particular device family, type, or role, or at an enterprise site. None of these answers are in fact identical to the training. It IS an image for a specific device type and it is an organizations image. It's a "tag" to a base image.

Provided answer seems to be correct according to Cisco site. B: The Cisco recommended software image for a specific device type. In the Cisco DNA Center Image Repository, a golden image is a validated software image or SMU that meets the compliance requirements specific to the device type. Cisco DNA Center displays the Cisco-recommended software images according to device type, and by designating a recommended image as golden, administrators can centralize and simplify software management across the network. Therefore, selecting the Cisco recommended software image for a specific device type as a golden image ensures compliance and allows for standardized software deployment. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/dna-center/2-3-3/user_guide/b_cisco_dna_center_ug_2_3_3/b_cisco_dna_center_ug_2_3_3_chapter_0100.html#task_a1z_zzp_1cb
