Looking at this sentence it looks like a standalone deployment model can actually have two nodes for what is called a "high availability standalone". It's not distributed until you start splitting up the personas which I don't believe is practical for only having two nodes.

B is correct--Any deployment that includes MORE than one node is a distributed deployment; hence the name "standalone"
