Selected Answer: B
weighted random early detection (WRED) can be used to implement a congestion avoidance technique for TCP-based applications. WRED allows the router to selectively drop packets when the congestion level exceeds a certain threshold. By dropping packets early in the queue, before the queue becomes full, it helps to prevent tail drops and reduce congestion. WRED uses probabilistic dropping based on the IP Precedence or Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) values of the packets to prioritize and protect important traffic while allowing less important traffic to be dropped.
