Selected Answer: D
The distribution system (DS) port on a Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) is used to connect the WLC to a switch to handle normal access point traffic. This port enables communication between the WLC and access points, allowing data packets from the wireless clients to pass through the network. Incorrect options: A. redundancy: This port is used for high availability and failover between WLCs, not for access-point traffic. B. service: The service port is typically used for management traffic and does not handle regular client data or access-point traffic. C. console: The console port is for CLI management and troubleshooting, not for passing access-point traffic.

The correct answer is B. service. In a Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) setup, the service port is the one that connects to a switch to pass normal access-point traffic. This port is responsible for handling the communication between the access points and the WLC, allowing the access points to send and receive data to and from the wired network. The other options are as follows: A. redundancy: This port is used for communication between redundant WLCs for failover and backup purposes. C. console: This port is typically used for out-of-band management and configuration of the WLC. D. distribution system: This term is often used in the context of the wireless network itself, referring to the infrastructure that connects the access points and provides wireless coverage. It's not specifically related to the port on the WLC that connects to a switch. So, the correct choice for the port that connects to a switch to pass normal access-point traffic is B. service.

This is answer from ChatGPT which is not correct. The service port can be used management purposes, primarily for out-of-band management. However, AP management traffic is not possible across the service port. A distribution system port connects the controller to a neighbor switch and serves as the data path between these two devices. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/7-6/configuration-guide/b_cg76/b_cg76_chapter_011010.html#ID106

Controllers also have multiple distribution system ports... These port carry of the data coming to and going from the controller. Ther CAPWAPP tunnels (control and data) that extend to each of controller´s APs pass across the distribution system ports. By the Cert Guide
