In HA, When the active WLC fails, the standby WLC takes over. Mobility peers connected to the primary WLC must be manually configured to use the MAC address for the secondary WLC under their mobility setup. To avoid the hustle, we automate this process by using mobility MACs. Mobility MAC is a virtual MAC address shared between the primary and secondary WLC in an HA setup. Mobility MAC Unique MAC address shared between peers in HA setup. This mac address should be used to form a mobility pair between HA setup and another WLCs in HA setup or with independent controllers.
