Actual exam question from Cisco's 300-620
Question #: 247
Topic #: 1
[All 300-620 Questions]

An engineer configures an L3Out between BLeaf1 and Core1. A Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switch runs in NX-OS mode, and the two devices must peer using OSPF. The devices in the network are configured as follows:

• BLeaf1 has been configured with the IP address 10.1.0.2/31 and the router ID 0.0.0.2.
• Core1 has been configured with the IP address 10.1.0.3/31 and the router ID 0.0.0.1.
• On Cisco ACI, the engineer has enabled OSPF using the default OSPF settings.
• The engineer has configured OSPF on the NX-OS switch using the ip router ospf ACI_peering area 1 command.

Which action brings up the OSPF adjacency?

  • A. Set and Auth Key on Core1.
  • B. Configure Area 1 on BLeaf1.
  • C. Disable Hello Timer on BLeaf1.
  • D. Change the MTU on Core1.

I'm ok with prospio971, and think it's D. Tested in ACI lab by default the area is set to 1, so maybe it's the MTU (Not clear as always with this f*** type of question)

Selected Answer: D
In OSPF, mismatched MTU settings between two devices can prevent the OSPF adjacency from forming. By default, Cisco Nexus 9000 switches in NX-OS mode perform an MTU check during the OSPF adjacency negotiation process. If the MTU values on the interfaces of BLeaf1 and Core1 do not match, the adjacency will fail to establish. To resolve this issue, you need to ensure that both devices have matching MTU settings. Changing the MTU on Core1 to match BLeaf1 will allow the OSPF adjacency to form successfully. This is a common troubleshooting step when dealing with OSPF adjacency issues caused by MTU mismatches.
