Topic #: 1
[All 300-815 Questions]

Refer to the exhibit. An engineer deploys CAC to Cisco UCM. Up to five G.711 calls must be supported on the WAN link between Site A and Site B. Users report that only four concurrent calls are possible between Site A and Site B. Why isn't the fifth concurrent call successful?

  • A. The G.729 audio codec is negotiated between Site A and B instead of the G.711 codec.
  • B. The QoS configuration on the WAN link causes the fifth call to be dropped.
  • C. Cisco UCM is using alternative links because of the Weight value.
  • D. The Audio Bandwidth value is undersized and mist be set to 400 kbps.

Selected Answer: D
The exhibit shows the audio bandwidth between Site A and Site B is set to 320 kbps. For G.711 calls, each call consumes approximately 80 kbps of bandwidth (64 kbps for payload and an additional ~16 kbps for overhead). This means: Maximum calls supported=Audio Bandwidth/Bandwidth per G.711 call=320/80=4 calls The fifth call cannot be established because the Audio Bandwidth value is undersized and must be set to at least 400 kbps to support five concurrent G.711 calls.
