In a Cisco ACI fabric, silent hosts (e.g., App_2 on S2) are endpoints that do not proactively send traffic (such as Gratuitous ARP) and therefore are not automatically learned by the ACI fabric. To force the fabric to learn a silent host, you need to ensure that the host receives traffic that prompts it to respond, revealing its MAC and IP addresses. The correct Bridge Domain (BD) configuration to achieve this is setting "L2 Unknown Unicast" to "Flood".
