All of the other ports in the network are using the default VLAN (VLAN 1) but port 0/1, which connects to the WLC, is configured as a trunk, so VLAN 1 is not operational.
Clarification here, the WLC can be connected to an access port or a trunk port. But the issue is still that you cannot make the native vlan on the switch trunk port the same as the tagged vlan for MGMT on the WLC. The switch will drop any tagged frames coming in over the native vlan. Solution is to either make the Native Vlan something else, or make the MGMT vlan on the WLC as VLAN 0, which will be sent untagged to the switch and be processed under the native vlan (1) on the trunk port.
I think the answer is correct but the explanation is not very good.
It says the problem is that Fa0/1 is configured as a trunk port, but that is not the issue.
WLCs must be connected to a trunk port.
The issue is the trunk port is using vlan 1 as the native VLAN, while the other ports are using vlan 1.
To fix it, you would need to make the native vlan something else (999), and then use the command: "switchport trunk allowed vlan add 1" to add vlan 1 as a tagged vlan for the trunk port.
