The running configuration is stored in the RAM (Random Access Memory). The ROM (Read-Only Memory) saves the bootstrap program that loads the Cisco IOS image into the device. The Flash memory is where the IOS is stored at boot time. The NVRAM (Non-Volatile RAM) stores the start-up configuration file. TFTP (Trivial FTP) used to provide remote backup for configuration file.
