Refer to the exhibit. A network operator needs to shut down interface Gi0/0/0/2 for maintenance. What occurs to the interface states of Gi0/0/0/0 and Gi0/0/0/1?
A.
Gi0/0/0/1 and Gi0/0/0/0 become active
B.
Gi0/0/0/1 and Gi0/0/0/0 remain standby
C.
Gi0/0/0/0 becomes active; Gi0/0/0/1 remains standby
D.
Gi0/0/0/1 becomes active; Gi0/0/0/0 remains standby
I think you are right!
D is correct
The priority is 0x8000 an the lower Port ID wins
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/xr12000/software/xr12k_r4-1/interfaces/command/reference/interfaces_cr41xr12k_chapter8.html#wp948389616
A lower value is a higher priority for the port.
"The port identifier is the combination of the port priority and port number."
So when Gi0/0/0/2 is down, the next best is Gi0/0/0/1 with Port ID 0x800, 0x0002 leaving the port Gi0/0/0/0 in standby because only 1 link should be active according to the configuration output.
Port ID
Port identifier, expressed in the following format: Nxnnnn. N is the port priority, and nnnn is the port number assigned by the sending router.
So it's the interface number that will decide it ?
Port identifier, expressed in the following format: Nxnnnn. N is the port priority, and nnnn is the port number assigned by the sending router.
Not sure it's not the port number
C is the correct answer.
based on this link, higher priority value wins and Gi0/0/0/0 has higher priority value than 0/0/0/1
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/ncs6000/software/ncs6k-7-2/lxvpn/configuration/guide/b-lxvpn-cg-ncs6000-72x/configuring-link-bundles.html
Note
If the bundle maximum-active command is issued, then only the highest-priority link within the bundle is active. The priority is based on the value from the bundle port-priority command, where a lower value is a higher priority. Therefore, we recommend that you configure a higher priority on the link that you want to be the active link.
D is correct. With same priority port Gi0/0/0/1 has the next lower port ID. So Gi0/0/0/1 becomes active and Gi0/0/0/0 standby
