I always thought type 1 hypervisors depend on whatever the physical servers OS is and that Type 2 hypervisors have to provide their own operating system. Please someone correct me and provide a source. Choice A makes the most sense to me

Type 2 hypervisor runs on top of an already existing OS, while type 1 hypervisor runs directly on hardware with its OS.
