Flow sampling reduces the CPU overhead of analyzing traffic with Flexible NetFlow by reducing the number of packets that are analyzed. Flow samplers are used to reduce the load on the device that is running by limiting the number of packets that are selected for analysis. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/fnetflow/configuration/15-mt/fnf-15-mt-book/use-fnflow-redce-cpu.pdf

Selected Answer: BC
Traffic to be analyzed is reduced by a sampling rate of 1% (out of every 100 packets, only one packet will be captured, exported, and analyzed) thus reducing CPU and memory load. The accuracy will be degraded since not all of the traffic will be analyzed. Security of the exported data can be enhanced through encryption, hashing, firewalls, etc.

it's just taking samples: rather than having 100 flows one for each interface, it's collecting a random flow "1 flow randomly chosen between 100 interfaces" which will result of lower Resources usage and fewer packets
