A. optional metrics doesn't exist in yang (the name is not being used)
B. Correct, everything ending with * is a list. Lists with a type are leaf-lists. So where interface* [name] is a list, higher-layer-if and lower-layer-if are leaf-lists.
C. incorrect, not even close to being possible
D. Containers -> "a container node has at most one instance", in this example interfaces and statistics are containers. that makes two, not three.
