I see what you guys are saying but if you have two exact same mask it doesn't matter, it takes the prefix not the mask itself (even when it depends on the mask)

Correct, you are good, but where does It says the longest prefix rules out everything in the question? . The most logical AD-> determine how install the routes the router, next it uses the metric values lower

The key of this question is to know that the term "best route" is applied between the same route with exact mask/prefix, so "longest match" doesn't apply here. C and D are the ones I go.

I thunk it should be C and D. It asks 'best route'. Subnet mask/longest prefix is manadatory criteria to determine the route itself, but after that to determine best route, it should be AD and metric.

Answers D and E. Subnet mask and AD are used for considering the best route towards a destination. Metrics play a role for each routing protocol separately, the route is either installed or not installed into routing table based on its metric. It doesn't play any role for choosing the best route when forwarding a packet.

No the Subnet mask has nothing to do with "best route" the subnet mask is used byt the local host only, to determine IF the destination is on the same subnet or not. That is all.

The route selection process is as follows: 1. longest match (smallest subnet mask) 2. lowest AD 3. lowest Metric

A router o switch3 use AD to selecting the source of routing what it'll install in the routing table, later it use the value of metric to selecting the best route when forward the packets. El package with the IP address that has the best match will fordward to out interface Netmask is use to determinate if the hosts are in the same network o diferents networks. So C: metrics and D. administrative distance are corrects

Stupid answers. B and E are also used for selecting the best route. If they mean routes for routing table, then C and D
