The answer can be found in the link provided by shonda319 earlier (pages 10 and 11). Note that for a deployment to require dedicated admin and mnt, it must have more than 5 PSNs. 5 PSNs or below do not require a dedicated admin and mnt node. Even when PXgrid is added on page 11, you can see that you can still have 5 PSNs and 2 PXgrid nodes without requiring dedicated admin and mnt. The only scenario that requires dedicated admin/mnt in the document is when you exceed 5 PSNs.

correct answers are B and E.
Maximum PSNs + PXG nodes = 5

C and D are correct.
this is a medium deployment and you can have up to 8 nodes in it.
two nodes must be dedicated for PAN and Mnt and we are left with 6 more nodes.
Up to six nodes can be added as PSN.
in case you need PxGrid you can add up to two but still can not be more than 8 nodes total.
Only C and D options match with Medium deployment.

Many people here think that question assumes that PAN and MnT are both running on DEDICATED pair of nodes (i. e. 4 nodes together) - the word "dedicated" in the question implies it.
However, question states „TWO NODES configured with dedicated PAN and MnT”, not 4 nodes.
So I think this is Medium model deployment, which can have maximum 5 PSNs and 2 PxGrid nodes. So correct are:
A. seven PSN nodes with one PxGrid node
D. six PSN nodes:
Sorry again, it must be really A) & D).
My interpretation of the question as "TWO NODES" for PAN and MnT (not 4 nodes) leads to Medium-size deployment and 3 correct answers (optionally 4 if ISE v3+ is used):
- B) - two PSNs + one PxGrid
- C) - five PSNs + one PxGrid
- E) - three PSNs
- D) - six PSNs in ISE v3 (but question is for sure from older versions)
---
As correct are only 2 options, we can SURELY say that question "two nodes configured with dedicated PAN and MnT" actually means LARGE deployment with 4 nodes (2x PAN, 2x MnT).
So, correct are the answers with more than 5 PSNs (or more 6 PSN for ISE v3), i. e., CORRECT ARE:
A. seven PSN nodes with one PxGrid node
D. six PSN nodes (question is is for sure from ISE v2.x)
The two Cisco ISE deployment models that require two nodes configured with dedicated PAN and MnT personas are:
B. two PSN nodes with one PxGrid node
D. six PSN nodes
In a Cisco ISE deployment, the PAN is responsible for managing the configuration and policies for the entire deployment. The MnT is responsible for monitoring the health of the deployment and collecting logs and statistics. In a small deployment with two PSN nodes, the PAN and MnT personas can be combined on a single node. However, in a larger deployment with six PSN nodes, the PAN and MnT personas should be configured on separate nodes to improve performance and scalability.
your reference is clearly stating that A & D are the answers. Less than 5 PSN nodes - PAN and MnT personas can be combined, More than 5 PSN nodes - PAN and MnT personas should be configured on separate(dedicated) nodes.
As I understand, it is asking the case where MnT and PAN are running at the same time in dedicated 2 nodes. Which means 2 nodes are for PAN and MnT only, this means that other remaining nodes cannot be beyond 5. So I would go for B and E.
I believe the answers are B & E
PAN and MnT Personas are both running on 2 nodes.
In ISE 2.4 this means that there can be no more than 5 PSNs, this means A & D are incorrect. . C is ambiguous as it appears to state 5 PSNs and a 6th node that runs pxGrid which is not supported.
B & E are the best answers IMO
The questions says: dedicated PAN and MnT personas. So 1 PAN and 1 MnT. That means A and D are correct. If you read it like dedicated combined PAN and MnT nodes (1 node with prim. PAN and prim. MnT, and 1 node with sec. PAN and sec. Mnt) it would be B, C and E. But we need to select just 2 options so I would go for A and D. Nice those clear Cisco questions…
i think correct answers are B and D
In a distributed deployment, you can have the following combination of nodes on your network:
- Primary and secondary Administration nodes for high availability
- A pair of Monitoring nodes for automatic failover
- One or more Policy Service nodes for session failover
- One or more pxGrid nodes for pxGrid services
Remember that pxgrid is not mandatory,
If we have two nodes dedicated (with no PSN and PxGrid),
Option 1 (2 nodes PAN+MNT dedicated + 2 nodes PSN with or without pxgrid)
Option 2 (2 nodes PAN+MNT dedicated + 6 nodes PSN with or without pxgrid)
Three nodes couldnt be a valid response because nodes with PAN and Mnt won't be dedicated, they need to have PSN service in all nodes
