Selected Answer: C
for me the Correct answer is C : if R2 is down, user prefixes are advertised from IG to R1, then R1 to R3 , then R3 to R4 ( from EBGP to IBGP), then since R4 is RR to CE2 it advertise the prefixe to CE2, from other way(prefixe of appli behind CE2), CE2 advertise to R4(IBGP), then R4 advertise to R3(since RR), then R3 to R1 (from ibgp to ebgp), R1 to IG.

to proof that D is incorrect : if R2 is down: user prefixe send from IG to R1, then R1 to R3 , then R3 to R4(since R3 is RR), then ? how R4 can adverise prefixe recieved from R3 to CE2 ? it can not since bgp rules denies that(from ibgp to ibgp )

Selected Answer: D
Its D, If R2 is down, all prefixes will come from R1 then will be advertise to R3, With R3 not being RR, it wont be able to advertise R1 prefixes to R4 where R2 is connected the the hosts

Did anyone notice the configuration on R3 is wrong? It has a neighbor to AS 400 using the IP from router R1 in AS 200. It should peer with AS 200 not AS 400. I go for C also.

Initially I didn't read the question well and I instintivly thought local preference, however the two local preference suggestions are equivalent... So after reading the comments and thinking it through... The solution would be to use R4 as a RR beteween R3 and CE2 Nothing in the question suggets CE2 and CE3 provide the same services... And if R4 acts as RR, then CE2 will be reachable from the internet as a session would be established between it and PE3

Option C is correct R4 becomes RR and can exchange traffic between R3 and CR2.

The solution would be to correct the remote-as on R3 towards R1 first ... (but it's not a possible answer..)

BGP prefixes received via on R3 VIA EBGP. R3 send this prefixes to R4 , but R4 not forward BGP prefixes to CR2 BGP Rules FROM IBGP peer received prefixes not forward to IBGP peer

BGP prefixes received via on R3 VIA EBGP. R3(RR-client) send this prefixes to R4 , R4(RR) forwards this to CR2(RR-client). https://networklessons.com/bgp/bgp-route-reflector

it's correct local preference don't work in ebgp So, i thinks is D, because the client lost the connection when R2 has a outage Set R3 as a route reflector for R4 and CE1.
