PortFast works on Access Ports where you connect end devices. However, enabling it on trunk ports could cause temporary loops on Layer 2, but that's not to say that you shouldn't do it, but that is a limitation of PortFast if/when enabled on trunk ports, and it may be worth avoiding if this causes issues on the network. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4000/8-2glx/configuration/guide/stp_enha.html#wp1033890
