D. is incorrect. I does not matter you configure all the codecs in a transcoder profile if you are negotiating just one codec in the dial-peer in CUBE 1.
B. is correct, since with a voice class you are allowing to negotiate the codec asked, independently if there are or not transcoder profiles in the CUBE 2.
CUBE_1 (codec g729r8) // CUBE_2 (codec g729br8) // Question (must use the g729r8)
Transcoder on CUBE_1 > Will not use g729r8 it will change to g729br8
Solution: voice class to CUBE_2
I vote B. The requirement is for both CUBE1 and 2 to use G.729r8. A transcoder would make calls work of course, but that doesn't satisfy the requirement. The only way to do that would be to deploy a voice class to CUBE2 to explicitly add G.729r8.
I read again.
CUBE1 does not need Transcoder because it is using g729r8.
I changed my answer to B.
Deploying a voice -class on CUBE2 adding required coded
It looks like such requirement is needed. And B seems to point that.
CUBE_2 (config)#
codec preference 1 g729r8
codec preference 2 g729br8
CUBE_2 (config)#
dial-peer voice 11 voip
voice-class codec 10
no codec g729br8
Such requirement is needed to be set up. And B seems to point that.
CUBE_2 (config)# Voice class codec 11
codec preference 1 g729r8
codec preference 2 g729br8
CUBE_2 (config)# dial-peer voice 11 voip
voice-class codec 11
no codec g729br8
Question states that the call must use G.729r8, which means CUBE_2 needs to be able to "speak" G.729r8, instead of G.729br8 currently configured. The first step towards CUBE_2 supporting G.729r8 is configuring a voice class with G.729r8 as one of the options. Hence I am going with Answer B.
A codec voice class is a construct within which a codec preference order can be defined. A codec voice class can then be applied to a dial peer, which then follows the preference order defined in the codec voice class.

this will be true if they have multiple codecs to negotiate, if Cube 1 has A and Cube 1 has B - there is nothing in common so how they will be able to negotiate. I will go with D
Configuring a transcoder on Cube 1indicates that you want to add the G729br8 codec right? This would certainly allow for the call to establish as a G729br8 setup, but the question explicitly states this call must setup as a G729r8. Only way yo do that would be to modify the Cube 2 config.
