When a number is dialed, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager uses closest-match
logic to select which pattern to match from among all the patterns in its call-routing table. In
practice, when multiple potentially matching patterns are present, the destination pattern is
chosen based on the following criteria:
The pattern matches the dialed string.
The pattern represents the smallest number of endpoints.

Should be B and C according to this doc: https://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=3089358&seqNum=2

In practice, when multiple potentially matching patterns are present, the destination pattern is chosen based on the following criteria:
* The pattern matches the dialed string.
* The pattern represents the smallest number of endpoints.
They also provide an example:
When a user dials the string 1210, then pattern 121X is chosen because out of the two potential matches, 121X and 12XX, 121X is the better match as it represents only 10 possible numbers while 12XX represents 100 possible numbers.
I believe they use "numbers" and "endpoints" interchangeably, since an endpoint would have a number assigned to it.
B is clear correct, but the second answer is diffcult. It has nothing to do with the number of endpoints, so for me it is D. But maybe it is another misleading Question due to an unclear expression

A is 100% wrong.
B is 100% correct.
I think C and E also Wrong, because the pattern match has nothing to do withe the Number of Endpoints.
D should also be correct, but the shortest prefix? Maybe there is only one correct Answer.
I would say that B and C are correct!
"When user A dials the string 1200, Unified CM compares it with the patterns in its call routing table. In this case, there are two potentially matching patterns, 1XXX and 12XX. Both of them match the dialed string, but 1XXX matches a total of 1000 strings (from 1000 to 1999) while 12XX matches only 100 strings (from 1200 to 1299). Therefore, 12XX is selected as the destination of this call."
B is clear!
C The pattern represents the smallest number of endpoints. In another words the smallest number of endpoints (strings that are configured on an endpoint) will be matched with this pattern.
When I think about the answer D, it says the shortest explicit prefix, so the shortest Prefix in this example should be 1.XXX and not 12.XX (that is matched first).
I don't know. Maybe I am getting it wrong.
